Fiberglass Molded Grating
At Carlson Engineered Composites, we offer a full portfolio of fiberglass molded grating that are corrosion resistant, lightweight, virtually maintenance-free, dimensionally-stable, and easy to work with. The fiberglass molded grating are manufactured with uniform fiberglass strands bonded with a selection of resins infused with UV inhibitors.
The fiberglass molded grating are available in three standard resin systems that meet Class 1 Flame Spread Reating as per ASTM E-84 test standards.
GP: General Purpose Polyester
A general purpose orthophthalic polyester resin system that offers good corrosion resistance at an economical price. Comes in standard colors of yellow and light gray and contains UV inhibitors. Polyester resin exhibits good corrosion resistance, good dielectric properties, low thermal conductivity, and excellent mechanical properties.
IFR: Fire Retardant Polyester
A premium-grade isophthalic polyester resin system that provides excellent corrosion protection. Comes in standard colors of green, yellow, dark gray, and light gray. Contains UV inhibitors.
VFR: Fire Retardant Vinylester
A vinylester resin system that provides the highest level of corrosion protection. Comes in standard colors of orange and dark gray. Contains UV inhibitors. This system is capable of higher service temperatures than polyester resin systems.
Available Top Surfaces
Carlson Engineered Composites' fiberglass molded grating are available in square or rectangular mesh patterns of varying sizes with top surface options such as:
- Meniscus (concave, half moon surfaces)
- Grit-Top (coarse or fine) slip resistant top surfaces
